Why am I waiting?

Paige Toon is one of my favorite authors and I am always eagerly anticipating her books. This one is no exception.

The Last Piece of My Heart sounds sooooo good. I was already excited about this one, but the fact that it talks about an aspiring writer/girl who wants to publish a book makes me want to read it even more.
Somehow, I have a feeling there is so much more to this story and I can’t wait to find it out!

Tell me, what book are you eagerly anticipating this week?
Feel free to leave your links so I could visit you.

Waiting On Wednesday (#20): By Your Side by Kasie West

wow

Waiting on Wendesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It spotlights upcoming releases we can’t wait to read.

This week I am eagerly anticipating:

by-your-side

By Your Side by Kasie West

Publisher: HarperTeen

Publication Date: January 31st, 2017

Summary:

In this irresistible story, Kasie West explores the timeless question of what to do when you fall for the person you least expect. Witty and romantic, this paperback original from a fan favorite is perfect for fans of Stephanie Perkins and Morgan Matson.

When Autumn Collins finds herself accidentally locked in the library for an entire weekend, she doesn’t think things could get any worse. But that’s before she realizes that Dax Miller is locked in with her. Autumn doesn’t know much about Dax except that he’s trouble. Between the rumors about the fight he was in (and that brief stint in juvie that followed it) and his reputation as a loner, he’s not exactly the ideal person to be stuck with. Still, she just keeps reminding herself that it is only a matter of time before Jeff, her almost-boyfriend, realizes he left her in the library and comes to rescue her.

Only he doesn’t come. No one does.

Instead it becomes clear that Autumn is going to have to spend the next couple of days living off vending-machine food and making conversation with a boy who clearly wants nothing to do with her. Except there is more to Dax than meets the eye. As he and Autumn first grudgingly, and then not so grudgingly, open up to each other, Autumn is struck by their surprising connection. But can their feelings for each other survive once the weekend is over and Autumn’s old life, and old love interest, threaten to pull her from Dax’s side?

Why am I waiting?

As you probably already know, Kasie West is my favorite ya contemporary writer, and I want to read everything she writes.
By Your Side already has amazing ratings from bloggers and book reviewers who were lucky enough to receive an early review copy.
I have no doubt this will be another stunning novel and I can’t wait to read it myself!

Waiting on Wednesday (#19): My Sweet Revenge by Jane Fallon

This week I am eagerly anticipating:

My Sweet Revenge by Jane Fallon

Publisher: Penguin UK, Michael Joseph

Publication Date: January 12th, 2017

Summary:

I want to make my husband fall back in love with me.

Let me explain. This isn’t an exercise in 1950s wifeydom. I haven’t been reading articles in old women’s magazines. ‘Twenty ways to keep your man’. That couldn’t be further from the truth.

I want him to fall back in love with me so that when I tell him to get the hell out of my life he’ll care. He won’t just think, ‘Oh good’.

I want it to hurt.

Paula has had Robert’s back since they got together as drama students. She gave up her dreams so he could make it. Now he’s one of the nation’s most popular actors. And Paula’s just discovered he’s having an affair.

She’s going to remind Robert just what he’s sacrificing. And then she’s going to break his heart like he broke hers. It will be her greatest acting role ever.

Revenge is sweet. Isn’t it?

Why am I waiting?

It seems to me this story could go two ways: it could blow our minds with it’s greatness, or it could make us roll our eyes.
I have a feeling the first will be the case, and I simply can’t wait to read it.
Also, I am so curious to see how she’s going to make her husband fall in love with her!

Jane Fallon is pretty popular author, but I still haven’t read anything by her. I hope My Sweet Revenge will be my first encounter with her writing.

Publisher: Bantam Press

Publication Date: March 9th, 2017

Summary:

Alice Rose is a foundling, discovered on the Yorkshire moors above Haworth as a baby. Adopted but then later rejected again by a horrid step-mother, Alice struggles to find a place where she belongs. Only baking – the scent of cinnamon and citrus and the feel of butter and flour between her fingers – brings a comforting sense of home.

So it seems natural that when she finally decides to return to Haworth, Alice turns to baking again, taking over a run-down little teashop and working to set up an afternoon tea emporium.

Luckily she soon makes friends – including a Grecian god-like neighbour – who help her both set up home and try to solve the mystery of who she is. There are one or two last twists in the dark fairytale of Alice’s life to come . . . but can she find her happily ever after?

Wonderfully wry, heart-warming and life-affirming, Trisha Ashley’s hilarious novel is perfect for fans of romantic comedies by Milly Johnson and Jill Mansell. And it contains recipes!

Why am I waiting?

Trisha Ashley is an author who’s beautiful stories always come inside gorgeous book covers. I mean, just look at this one!! Isn’t this one of the most beautiful covers you’ve ever seen?
It is to me…

The Little Teashop of Lost and Found sounds like a beautiful story that will leave it’s readers with a comforting feeling of hope, and I can’t wait to read it myself.

Plus, it also contains recipes, and who can resist to that?

Waiting On Wednesday (#15): A Year and a Day by Isabelle Broom

A Year and a Day by Isabelle Broom

Publisher: Penguin

Publication Date: November 17th, 2016

Summary:

Three women. Three love stories. One city.

For Megan, visiting Prague with her friend Ollie is just business. Nothing more. Because if she admits the truth she might lose everything.

For Hope, this trip is a surprise treat from Charlie, her new partner. But she’s struggling to enjoy the city when she knows how angry her daughter is. And that it’s all her fault.

For Sophie, Prague has always been magical. And now she’s counting down the moments until her boyfriend Robin joins her in the city that holds so many of their memories . . .

Why am I waiting?

This year I read Isabelle Broom’s My Map of You and fell in love with her writing style and the story in general. My Map of You is honestly one of the best novels I have read this year, so I can’t wait to read Broom’s future work.
She did such an amazing job describing Greece and making me want to visit there. Now, her new book is taking place in Prague, the city I actually visited once.
I am the most curious about how Broom’s going to describe the beauty of it using words, but am also intrigued by the plot and I can’t wait to meet Megan, Hope and Sophie.

Waiting on Wednesday (#14): Glitter by Aprilynne Pike

wow

Waiting on Wendesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. It spotlights upcoming releases we can’t wait to read.

This week I am eagerly anticipating:

glitter

Glitter by Aprilynne Pike

Publisher: Random House Books for Young Readers

Publication Date: October 25th, 2016

Summary:

From #1 New York Times bestselling author Aprilynne Pike comes a truly original new novel—Breaking Bad meets Marie Antoinette in a near-future world where the residents of Versailles live like it’s the eighteenth century and an almost-queen turns to drug dealing to save her own life.

Outside the palace of Versailles, it’s modern day. Inside, the people dress, eat, and act like it’s the eighteenth century—with the added bonus of technology to make court life lavish, privileged, and frivolous. The palace has every indulgence, but for one pretty young thing, it’s about to become a very beautiful prison.
When Danica witnesses an act of murder by the young king, her mother makes a cruel power play . . . blackmailing the king into making Dani his queen. When she turns eighteen, Dani will marry the most ruthless and dangerous man of the court. She has six months to escape her terrifying destiny. Six months to raise enough money to disappear into the real world beyond the palace gates.
Her ticket out? Glitter. A drug so powerful that a tiny pinch mixed into a pot of rouge or lip gloss can make the wearer hopelessly addicted. Addicted to a drug Dani can sell for more money than she ever dreamed.
But in Versailles, secrets are impossible to keep. And the most dangerous secret—falling for a drug dealer outside the palace walls—is one risk she has to take.

Why am I waiting?

Aprilynne Pike’s Wings series will always have a special place in my heart because it is the first work of fiction about faeries that I have read. It made me fell in love with those creatures and since then, books about faeries are my favorite fantasy reads.

Even though it’s been years since Wings came out, I still haven’t read any other book by Pike. I always wanted to try her other novels, so when I first saw the cover and read the synopsis for Glitter, I just knew that this will be my next read by this author.

The hilarious new novel from Lindsey Kelk, author of the bestselling I Heart series

Friends, family and bystanders all have an opinion and one complication leads to another as Adam and Liv try to muddle through in this hilarious, heartwarming comedy.

Are they split up – or are they on a break? What exactly are they allowed to get away with? And, most importantly, what do Liv and Adam really want?

Why am I waiting?

As you probably already know, Lindsey Kelk is one of my absolutely favorite authors. I loved every single book I read by her and she is the creator of the best chick lit series out there: I Heart.

I have been quetly stalking her for a while now (since I opened my twitter acc) and ever since I saw she was working on her new book, I was beyond excited to see what she prepared for us this time.

This book should be a bit different from her previous work because the story will be told from two POVs, one of them being from a guy.

Something tells me I’m going to love this one!

Now, Arden has inherited Arrowood, and she returns to her childhood home determined to establish what really happened to her sisters that traumatic summer. But the house and the surrounding town hold their secrets close – and the truth, when Arden finds it, is more devastating than she ever could have imagined. Family lies, buried secrets and a terrifying truth lie at the heart of this brilliant and haunting crime novel.

Why am I waiting?

Ever since I found out about this novel, I can’t get it out of my head.
There’s something about this book that is screaming at me that it is a book for me. I can’t even describe it.

The synopsis are really interesting and intense, plus the cover gives me creeps, in a good way.

All in all, I have a strong feeling this book will be everything I want from it and more, and I can’t wait to read it and see if my feeling is right.

From beloved author Kasie West (The Distance Between Us) comes an utterly charming story about mixed messages, missed connections, and the magic of good old-fashioned secret admirer notes.

Why am I waiting?

If you know me for some time now, you know that I often like to say that Kasie West is my ya contemporary queen.
I read all of her contemporary books so far and loved every single one of them.
Her books always put me in great mood, I love to reread them and I can’t get enough of her writing.
She also creates awesome characters that I want to befriend with.

Overall, when it comes to this genre, I can’t imagine anyone doing it better then West.

I just can’t wait to see what she cooked for us in her new novel.
I just KNOW I’ll devour this story!
