GIFTED / Today I want to talk about a book I read few weeks ago that I enjoyed at time I was reading it.
So Steady was self published on August 14th and it has 306 pages.
I want to thank Eve Dangerfield for sending me an eARC of her book.

About the book:

FROM GOODREADS / Nicole DaSilva keeps her mind on the future. That’s where her perfect life is. At least it will be if she can sort out her broken engagement, get her tattoo removed, control her wayward sisters and catch the person stealing from their business…but that’s easier said than done. Especially when there’s a huge, strangely attractive tattooist in her way…

Noah Newcomb keeps his mind on the past. It’s where the demons come loose. He trusts no one and his only plans are for a vasectomy. He and Nicole make as much sense together as, well, an ex-con and a former school captain, but he’s never been one to turn down a rebound thing. Especially not with a girl as Type A hot as her.

It’s your standard ‘say anything to my sisters and I’ll call the Australian Tax Office and tell them there’s $500,000 in cash under your bed’ affair, but as Nicole and Noah hook up it’s clear they’re falling for each other. Can they meet in the present? Do they have a shot at something steady?

Review:

So Steady is a book that is outside of my comfort zone (I rarely read steamy romances) but still, when I got a chance to read it I wanted to give it a try, because I like to switch genres all the time.
This was also my first time reading a bikers romance (is that how you call it?) and I have to admit, I really enjoyed this dangerous side of the story.

So Steady is second book in the series, but it can be read as standalone.
I didn’t read the previous book and I had no problem following the story whatsoever.

It follows two perspectives of our two main characters: Nicole and Noah.

The novel is set in Australia, which was nice and also bit outside of my comfort zone, as I don’t read many books that take place in that wonderful country.

The writing style is great, so easy to follow, and full of everyday dialogues that make this story so believable.
Seriously, I think Eve Dangerfield is a master when it comes to writing conversations between characters. I would stress out it as her biggest talent as a writer (but storytelling is also worth admiring).

So Steady not only talks about romance and chemistry between main characters, but also family dynamics, business and bike gangs take big part of the story too.

At first I didn’t like how nosy Nicole’s sisters were and how they thought they knew better then her who is good for her and who she should get rid of, when it comes to guys, but then again, without their annoying behaviour there wouldn’t be a story in first place.

There are some steamy and smoothy scenes through the book, and they were handled very well. However, there are not many of them, which I welcomed because I was afraid I wouldn’t like the novel if there was too much sex in it.
If you ask me, those scenes were dosed just right.

Overall, I enjoyed reading So Steady. It was nice to change things and explore outside of my comfort zone, and I would recommend this book to steamy romance lovers.

  1. How nice to enjoy a book that’s out of your comfort zone in many ways. From the cover I expected a steamy romance but if the steamy scenes were handled well that’s good. I have read a couple of books in a similar vein to this and it’s nice to switch about occasionally. Bonuses of being a bookblogger. 😁
