Sunday Post (Weekly Wrap Up August 27th-September 2nd)

Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

This meme was created for bloggers to spotlight posts they published in the week, as well as to talk about what they plan to write in the week that’s coming.

Sunday post is also great opportunity to showcase books we got in the week behind us.

Hi Guys!

This has been one hell of a week when it comes to my mental health!
I was under so much stress on work that on Thursday I wanted to just let go of everything, say one “FuckYou” out loud and just go home.
Friday was better but I was still angry, impulsive and saying things I didn’t mean, and now when it is weekend, instead of enjoying my free days, I am replaying in my head things I shouldn’t be bothered with, feeling sad. And the worst part, I know I am exaggerating.

It is not easy to be in my head, that’s for sure. If I’m all alone with myself, thoughts I should, and thoughts I shouldn’t, they all come to keep me company. And sometimes, bad thoughts win, but I do not let them win often.

I am still good, I have my GiGi, I have my books to keep me company and to focus on other worlds that aren’t mine.

Next time we speak, I will be better, I promise.

Last Week on Book Dust Magic:

Monday: In Movie Monday I talked about Love, Simon

Wendesday: I reviewed An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena

Friday: I reviewed Five Years From Now by Paige Toon

Next Week on Book Dust Magic:

Upcoming reviews:

I’ll also talk about the books I read in August.

Book Haul:

For review:

I’ll be participating in the blog tour for The Anniversary so lovely people from Penguin Random House, Michael Joseph (aka Jenny Plat) sent me this book.

Borrowed:

From work I borrowed Some Like It Hot by Louisa Edwards. I realized I have no idea what this book is about (I mean, I’m pretty sure it’s kinky 😉 ) so reading this book will be for educational purpose only (yeah, right!)!

Currently reading:

GiGi and I are preparing ourselves for that blog tour I was talking about.

That is it!
Let me know what’s been going on with you, what you’ve been reading or watching this week and feel free to leave your links so I can visit you.
Have a lovely Sunday!

  1. Hi Irena, sorry to hear work has been so stressful, I do hope it gets better there, or you make other decisions. xxx
The photo of Gigi is lovely, and he looks like the best reading companion. All your blogging is inspiring me to get back into it, so hopefully I will be a bit more regular on Chocolatepages soon.
    Lots of love, Amanda xxx

    1. Ohh, that’s so good to hear, that me blogging is inspiring you, and really do hope you’ll be more active because I always like to read your posts.
I was in a blogging slump for so long, I know how it can be, but lately I’ve been really inspired to write.
Ahh, GiGi always tries to chew my pages while I’m reading.
And thank you, I hope it will get better because I’m seriously thinking about those other decisions…

  2. Oh, when I was still working (for thirty years!), I used to often have those feelings. Stressful jobs can bring out our worst thoughts. I’m much better, post-retirement, but occasionally those old friends (bad thoughts) clamor away, wanting to come out and play. LOL

Enjoy your week, and thanks for visiting my blog.

    1. You are so right Laurel! I sometimes feel like I was a better person when I didn’t have this job, but I always try to set myself back on track when I notice that I think what I shouldn’t. That’s where the books often help.

  3. Oww I know how it feels to rehash things and not be able to leave them behind you. I hope there’s a good week coming though that will put it all firmly in the past. Sending you good vibes and positive relaxing thoughts! I hope your current read is good at least! Happy reading !

  4. Hope you have a better week! And you’re not alone, I think work stress is definitely not good for our mental health. I have a tendency to replay things over and over too.

Nice review of An Unwanted Guest! I have that one to read next, glad it wad good. Seafire doesn’t look bad either. 🙂
