The TBR Tag

If you follow this blog for a while, then you probably noticed I don’t usually do tags.
(I plan to do those I was tagged with at some point, don’t worry).

However, I recently visited Zoey’s blog Magiverse and saw that she did a tag called The TBR Tag.
Even though this tag is pretty old, I never had a chance to do it, and since I find it pretty interesting, I thought why not?

This Tag was originally created by Rachel from A Perfection Called Books and Dana from Dana Square. 

So, without further ado, here is the tag:

 

How do you keep track of your TBR pile?

I have my tbr list on Goodreads, but I also have some mental notes about books I also want to read but I haven’t shelved them yet.
I also have some phisical books that are not listed anywhere.
So the truth is, I am very bad in keeping track with my TBR pile.

Is your TBR mostly print of e-books?

I have more phisical books then ebooks. At least at this point.

How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?

Before I was a mood reader, but these days I pick books I have to review and of course, I try to read them all before their releasing day but sometimes I find it hard to keep up.
So basically, review obligations are ones that determine which books to read.

A book that’s been on your TBR list the longest?
According to Goodreads, Matched by Ally Condie has been the longest on my tbr. matched

A book on your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?
I am guilty when it comes to judging books by their covers. One of the most beautiful covers I have ever seen is the one for Wither by Lauren DeStefano. I’m not gonna lie, I added it to my tbr strictly because of the cover.
A book on your TBR that you NEVER plan on actually reading?
I don’t have that kind of book. If the book is on my tbr, I plan to read it at some point.
An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?
We Were On A Break by Lindsey Kelk and P.S. I Like You by Kasie West.
A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?
The Selection by Kierra Cass.
A book on your TBR that everyone has read except you? 
Once again, The Selection by Kierra Cass.
A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read? 
I feel like I’m repeating myself, but I can’t wait to read We Were On A Break by Lindsey Kelk.
The Number of Books on your goodreads TBR shelf?
At this very moment, I have 384 books on my GR tbr shelf.
Yeah, I have to make piece with the fact that I probably won’t be able to read them all, but there’s always hope!

    Congrats on your first tag in a while ^^
    384 book? wow. Suddenly, my TBR doesn’t feel like much at all.
    I read Matched (and the second book in the trilogy) a long time ago, and while it was enjoyable… well, I can’t say I particulary liked it. And the trilogy only gets worse from there. Still, you should try it out for yourself someday (:
    I also read Wither and it was… interesting. But when I started reading the second book, I couldn’t really get into it.
    P.S. I like you is also on my most anticipated books this year! I can’t wait to read it!
    I’ve heard a lot about The Selection – both good things and bad, but… well, I don’t think this book is for me. In terms of romance, everyone say there is an annoying love triangle. If there is one thing I can’t stand is a love triangle. Especially an annoying one.
    When you’ll ever get to it – please tell me what you think. I’d love to know (:

    Even though I don’t know most of the books you mentioned, it’s such a fun, short post to read ^^
    You should totally try out more tags in the future 😉

    1. Thanks Zoey! I’ll listen to your advice and do more tags. I love reading them and I noticed other ppl like to read them, but I rarely feel like doing them.
      Okay, I’ll let you know about my impressions about The Selection, but I already (like probably everyone else) got spoiler who America ended up with so I don’t feel like I’m in a hurry.
      Those books have huge popularity in Croatia so I’ll probably read them in croatian.
      I don’t usually read dystopian, that’s why Matched and Wither are on my tbr for so long.
      I think I added Matched only bc Richelle Mead said sth about it and, of course, bc of the pretty cover.
      Yay, I hope we’re both gonna love P.S. I like You. 🙂

  2. Obligatory reviews do affect the TBR pile, don’t they? I try to keeping them to a minimum of 2-3 a month so I can leave myself open to mood reading (my favorite kind). Wither really does have a beautiful cover, both the artwork and the vivid colors. Thanks for the open tag. I definitely want to give this one a try.

      I plan to got on your tempo and also read sth like 3 review books per month, but at this point I have more of them (bc Netgalley) so it will take time until I get to that point.
      But I hope I will.

  4. I’ve always been a mood reader, but as you said, I’ve had to review books and pick them up even if I’m not exactly inspired to read them at the moment. It’s not actually been bad, so it’s been an interesting experiment really 😛

    1. Ohhh, you described it perfectly: an interesting experoment.
      I sc*ewed myself when I requested many books via Netgalley all at once bc I was sure I won’t get approved for most of them but I still wanted to try. What happened was I got approved for so many books that now I have to keep up and I am embarrassingly behind, but I’m getting there. I hope I’ll have 80% ratio in September, but I hope that I’ll get to 90% this year. I’m not requesting anymore though.
      I make exceptions only for those books I’m dying to read.

      1. Ohh, Netgalley and Edelweiss are dangerous for sure. Thankfully, I requested just 4 and got 3 and for different months, so I’m good so far. But not I have to rush reading those so I post the reviews on times!
        How does that 80% thing work? I’ve seen people with badges but I don’t understand the meaning behind it.

      2. The meaning behind is that publisher from that see that you are serious about reading and reviewing books so they will likely approve your requests. But once you get 80% badge you can’t go under 80% bc you lose it.
        Basically, there is ore chance to be approved if you have the badge, but there’s no guarantee.
        Honestly, I just want the badge so I can show off with it. I only have one badge, the one eceryone on Netgally have so I want this one too. Other badges are harder to get so…

  6. I don’t do tags very often either, but they are fun to shake things up a little bit. You should definitely read some Kiera Cass! I think that you will enjoy any of her books. The TBR is always such a struggle! 🙂
